Platinum -proline derivatives

A similar series of reactions have been studied by Thaning and Wistrand [73, 76]. In these experiments, the acetoyl-protected proline derivatives were oxidized using constant current conditions, a platinum anode, tetrabutylammonium tetrafluorob-orate as electrolyte, and a methanol solvent (Scheme 40). 

Other metal-centered catalysts that have been studied include (te)strapped chiral porphyrins derived from L-proline, which can induce modest (< 30%) enantioselectivity <02EJIOC1666>. Supported amidate-bridged platinum blue complexes, which have not yet been applied to chiral epoxidation, but which show promise of utilizing molecular oxygen as the terminal oxidant, have... 

A synthesis of tylophorine 6.207 used an electron-rich arene as the carbon nucleophile (Scheme 6.92). The substrate was constructed by a sequence of two Suzuki couplings (Section 2.6), first an aryl-aryl coupling between iodide 6.201 and boronic acid 6.202, then an aryl-alkyne coupling, using an alkyne boronate 6.204 derived from proline. Platinum-catalysed cyclization generated the pyrrolidine 6.206, and the synthesis was completed by a one-pot deprotection-Pictet-Spengler reaction.
