Plant protection chemical introduction

Wiley recognized the opportunity for the introduction of a series of books within the theme Agrochemicals and Plant Protection with a wide scope that includes chemistry, biology and biotechnology in the broadest sense. This series is effectively a replacement for the successful Progress in Pesticide Biochemistry and Toxicology , edited by Hutson and Roberts, which has run to nine volumes. In addition, it complements the international journals Pesticide Science and Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, published by Wiley on behalf of the Society of Chemical Industry. [Pg.435]

As mentioned in the introduction, the first regulatory provisions which took into account the risk assessment of chemical plant protection products on bees started in 1956. They were progressively modified, leading to the publication of the July 5 1985 Decree [11], which modified the February 25 1975 Decree [12], and which is still in force. [Pg.44]

The initial training should be an introduction to basic hazards and plant procedures. Topics such as the flammable, toxic and corrosive properties of chemicals, use of personal protective equipment, fire alarm systems and works safety procedures should be discussed. [Pg.138]
