Piperazine hydrate

Piperazine citrate Tabs. 0.2 (= Piperazine Hydrate) 105 Each g of dipicrate residue = 0.3568 g of (C4H10N2)3, 2C6Hs07... 

Dose. The equivalent of 4 g of piperazine hydrate as a single dose, or 2 g daily for 7 days. 

Piperazine hydrochloride is produced by conversion of piperazine hydrate with hydrochloric acid. The dry solid product is broken up, then milled and sieved. Piperazine products may be present in the air as vapours or as dust. 

Procedure To an aqueous solution of acetaldehyde (5 ml) cooled with ice are added 1.5 ml of piperazine hydrate solution and 0.5 ml of freshly prepared 4% sodium nitroprusside solution. A red color is produced.
