Physical science is the study of matter and energy. Chemistry is one of the physical sciences.- It teaches us much about the different kinds of matter and how they behave. It teaches how different chemicals react with each other, so that you can tell in advance what will happen when you mix certain chemicals together. This knowledge has helped chemists decide what fuels to use to propel rockets and push satellites into space. But you cannot work with nuclear reactors or rocket fuels until you first learn the fundamental facts of chemistry. This book will help you to do just that. 

Dr. Cecchi is also involved in Teaching of Experimental Sciences and Scientific Master Degrees, two projects whose purposes are, respectively, to improve the methodologies of teaching physical sciences and to encourage students to study scientific subjects. The community of Green Chemistry educators has an interest in engaging students at an early age to teach them about green chemistry. The goal is to inspire the next generation of scientists and also to teach students about chemistry and how it relates to their day-to-day lives. Not every child will be inspired to study the physical sciences, but all will grow up to be consumers and voters and can have an impact on green chemistry implementation.
