Photographs example

This useful companion disk contains root cause analysis examples, predefined tree examples, practical checklists that can be customized, and incident evidence photograph examples. It includes a quick checklist for investigators traveling to an incident, examples of methodologies that may be usefiil in training the onsite team, and checklists and samples from the text that can be printed out at the incident site to help organize the team s work. 

The recognition of ASR is discussed in the SHRP manual on ASR (Stark, 1991) and in HWYCON 1994. Visual surveys must always be followed up by testing to confirm the source and cause of deterioration. Concrete Bridge Development Group (2002) has a table of 25 examples of cracks and visual defects with photographic examples in an appendix. 

Various uses have been proposed for aminothiazoles in the field of photography. The more representative examples are given in Table VI-15. The 4-aminothia2ole derivative (425) has been reported to be efficient fog stabilizer for photographic emulsions (1019) (Scheme 241).

The derivatives of the aminophenols have important uses both in the photographic and the pharmaceutical industries. They are also extensively employed as precursors and intermediates in the synthesis of more compHcated molecules, especially those used in the staining and dye industry. All of the major classes of dyes have representatives that incorporate substituted aminophenols these compounds produced commercially as dye intermediates have been reviewed (157). Details of the more commonly encountered derivatives of the aminophenols can be found in standard organic chemistry texts (25,158). A few examples, which have specific uses or are manufactured in large quantities, are discussed in detail in the following (see Table 6). 

The close electrochemical relationship of the simple quinones, (2) and (3), with hydroquinone (1,4-benzenediol) (4) and catechol (1,2-benzenediol) (5), respectively, has proven useful in ways extending beyond their offering an attractive synthetic route. Photographic developers and dye syntheses often involve (4) or its derivatives (10). Biochemists have found much interest in the interaction of mercaptans and amino acids with various compounds related to (3). The reversible redox couple formed in many such examples and the frequendy observed quinonoid chemistry make it difficult to avoid a discussion of the aromatic reduction products of quinones (see Hydroquinone, resorcinol, and catechol). 

The market outside of the United States reflects the historical dominance of carbon—zinc ceUs. For example, in Japan nearly half of all sales are carbon—zinc ceUs, about 33% are alkaline, and about 17% are Hthium. The high proportion of Hthium ceUs relative to U.S. sales reflects the important photographic market in Japan. Western European sales are similar to those in Japan, and Third World sales are almost totally dominated by carbon —zinc... 

Instant photographs are widely used for identification purposes, for example, for drivers Hcenses, student identification cards, and credit cards that can be issued immediately. Most passport photographs generated in the United States are instant color prints. Industrial and business appHcations include photographs of record for insurance purposes, constmction documentation, and real estate photography.
