Although the unusual dimerized phosphorohydrazide thioate 468 was isolated from the marine fungus Lignincola laevis, it was postulated that this compound is a biotransformation product of an insecticide that was present in the seawater. However, attempts to locate a comparable structure through the chemical registry have been unsuccessful. This compound showed cytotoxicity against L1210 cell line at a level of 0.25 pg/ml level [358]. 

The phosphorohydrazide derivatives of chromone seem to be very interesting due to their potential biological activity and the possible application in cancer chemotherapy. An unusual dimerized phosphorohydrazide thiotate (141) was identified by spectroscopic experiments from the mycelium of the strain of Lignincola laevis from which 7-hydroxycholesterol (83) and a common ceramide were isolated. According to the authors, it is quite likely that this substance is derived from a pesticide, although attempts to find a correlation with the structure of a known pesticide have been unsuccessful [63]. 

Phosphoryl trihydrazide, OP(NHNH2)3, is made from POCI3 and N2H4 (7.52). Whereas reaction (7.211) is favoured by near-anhydrous conditions, under aqueous conditions a ring compound is formed (7.215). On the other hand, the action of heat on diphenyl phosphorohydrazide is to produce the condensed compound (7.216), which can also be made by reaction (7.217). The chloro analogue of (7.217) is hydrolytically unstable, but the phenyl phosphonium salt can be prepared by reaction (7.218).
