Phosphino ether ligand

The reactions of lithiophosphide reagents with alkyl halides or sulphonate esters have continued to find wide application in the synthesis of new phosphines. A series of phosphino-ethers, e.g., (22), has been prepared from the reactions of chloromethyl-substituted ethers with lithium diphenylphosphide. " A one-step synthesis of macrocyclic phosphino-ethers and -thioethers (23) is afforded by the reactions of dilithio-organophosphides with bis(j8-chloroethyl)-ethers and -thioethers derived from ethane-1,2-diol and ethane-1,2-dithiol, respectively. The phosphino-crown ethers and thioethers 107 were prepared under high-dilution conditions in one step from appropriate dilithiumorganophosphides and 1,2-bis(chloroethoxy)ethane or l,2-bis(chloroethylthio)ethane, respectively (Scheme 12.42). Yields of diastereomeric mixtures of ligands 107 were from 4 to 15%. 107 formed stable complexes with common brutto formula LFeCL2, LC0CI2 and LNiCl2, LMo(CO)5 and LMo(CO)3 (L = 107, R = Ph, X = O) [103].
