Brutto formula

The arbitrary name VX relates to a group of D,5-diesters of methylphosphonic acid ROPO(CH3)S(CH2)2N(Rl)2. D-Isobutyl 5-2-(diethylamino)ethyl methylphosphonothioate (R= /Bu, R1 = Et), produced since 1972 exclusively in the former Soviet Union, was generally referred to as Russian VX or RVX (CAS 159939-87-4). The synonyms are VR VA phosphonothioic acid methyl-, 5-[2-(diethylamino)ethyl] D-(2-methylpropyl) ester D-isobutyl5-2-(diethylamino)ethyl methylthiophosphonate D-isobutyl 5-(W-diethylaminoethyl) methylphosphonothioate and Russian V-gas. The brutto formula of RVX is C11H26SNPO2 (MW 276.37). The stmctural formula of RVX is presented in Figure 7.1. 

Ammonium molybdate has the formula (NH4)sMo7024, but in the above reaction scheme, as well as in many other texts, it is presented as Mo04 for simplicity. The product is in some cases presented with the Brutto formula,... 

In following table, the number of isomers is given for the alkanes with up to 10 C-atoms. The table shows that the number of isomers increases exponentially with the number of carbon atoms in the alkane molecule. All (canonical) //-vectors are generated, corresponding to the given Brutto formula. The //-vector codes the number of hydrogens connected to each nonhydrogen atom For each //-vector all canonical adjacency matrices are computed. 

The phosphino-crown ethers and thioethers 107 were prepared under high-dilution conditions in one step from appropriate dilithiumorganophosphides and 1,2-bis(chloroethoxy)ethane or l,2-bis(chloroethylthio)ethane, respectively (Scheme 12.42). Yields of diastereomeric mixtures of ligands 107 were from 4 to 15%. 107 formed stable complexes with common brutto formula LFeCL2, LC0CI2 and LNiCl2, LMo(CO)5 and LMo(CO)3 (L = 107, R = Ph, X = O) [103].
