Phosphate ester binding and cleavage

4 Luminescence Studies of Anion Binding in Catalysis and Sensing 8.4.1 Phosphate Ester Binding and Cleavage [Pg.317]

Interactions with phosphate esters can be monitored by utilising Eu(III) excitation spectroscopy to elucidate catalytic properties of the complexes [4,5,47]. For example, the efficiency of Ln(in) complexes as catalysts for the cleavage of phosphate diesters and RNA correlates, in part, to the strength of binding of the Ln(III) complex to phosphate esters [5,47]. Catalysis of phosphodiester cleavage involves the direct binding and interaction of the Ln(III) complex [Pg.317]
