In a reactor provided with a mechanical stirrer, a reflux refrigerant and a thermometer, there is introduced 393 grams 1-[2-phenyl, 2-methoxy] ethyl piperazine and 22 grams 3-phenyl-3-methoxy propylene oxide in 750 ml of absolute ethanol. 

The interaction between l-[2-phenyl-2-methoxy] ethyl piperazine and 3-phenyl-3-methoxy propylene oxide in the presence of absolute ethanol at a temperature between 0-5°C gives rise to the formation of zipeprol. The reaction proceeds with the cleavage of epoxide ring to get converted to a secondary alcohol. 

Chemicals Required. l-[2-Phenyl-2-methoxy] ethyl piperazine 393 g (1.78 mol) 3-Phenyl-3-methoxy propylene oxide 22 g (0.134 mol) Absolute Ethanol 1250 ml.
