Petroleum Abiogenic

Gold, T., Soter, S. (1982) Abiogenic methane and the origin of petroleum. Energy Explore. Exploit., 1, 89-104. [Pg.260]

It may be supposed that cyclic y-lactones were formed by lac-tonization of acids which might represent intermediates in a bacterial or abiogenic oxidation of carotenoids into naphthenic acids. Corresponding acids were isolated from a Californian petroleum and it was assumed that they were formed by oxidation of the 3-ionone portion of 3-carotene (25) ... [Pg.55]

Kudryavtsev, Nikolai Alexandrovich - KygpaBaeB, HHKOJiafl AjieKcaHApoBin (1893-1971) Russian geologist, the founder of the modern theories of abiogenic petroleum formation. 1941 professor in Leningrad. [Pg.604]

Briefly, the Hubbert theory of peak oil assumes that petroleum reserves will not be replenished (i.e., that abiogenic replenishment is negligible) and predicts that future world petroleum production must inevitably reach a peak and then decline as these reserves are exhausted (Speight, 2011a,b and references cited therein). Controversy surronnds the theory since predictions for the time of the global peak is dependent on the past production and discovery data used in the calculation. [Pg.766]

The experimental results obtained by independent groups of researchers in the different laboratories discussed above confirm one of the main postulates of the theory of the abyssal abiogenic origin of petroleum complex hydrocarbon systems could be spontaneously generated deeply in the Earth under the upper mantle conditions. [Pg.120]
