Pesticides financial importance

Excessive unnecessary warnings on every use of every product could lead to workers taking a casual attitude in their use of all products. On the other hand, there has been so much scrutiny and concern about the use of pesticides in recent years that it is important to warn of real hazards and to base information on how to reduce exposure to pesticides on the best possible technical information. This information clearly stated on the product is of benefit to (1) the manufacturer who has spent millions of dollars in developing a product and who wishes to sell and/or continue to sell it (2) the users who may collectively receive financial benefits or a more comfortable pest-free situation from the proper use of the product (3) the person who handles the pesticide, since he is told exactly what the use hazards are and how to avoid them as well as, (4) the many members of the general public who have concerns that pesticides are not being used carefully enough. [Pg.453]
