Wrinkles perioral

An exudative granulomatous reaction started 2 days after the injection of hyaluronic acid (Hylaform) (dose not stated) for perioral wrinkles (7). The eczematous papular skin changes disappeared completely within 6 weeks, and could be provoked by intracutaneous testing with Hylaform (dose not stated). Histological examination showed a foreign body granuloma. [Pg.1700]

Perioral wrinkles (around the upper lip and chin) only respond to very deep peels (Figure 5.10). Many different agents have been tried e.g. pyruvic acid, that has a high potential for scarring, and this particular agent, which is difficult to control in concentrated solutions, is very rarely used. [Pg.36]

The combination Jessner s-35% TCA peel should be a part of the patient s full rejuvenation program. This should include botuhnum toxin to relax glabellar, forehead and perioral wrinkles, soft tissue filling agents such as hyaluronic acid to fill deep grooves and augment areas of... [Pg.140]

Several areas of the face require particular consideration. Care must be taken in the periorbital area to prevent any excess TCA solution from rolling into the eye, and as such TCA should not be applied to the upper eyelid. If tearing occurs, this can be gently wicked using a cotton-tipped appUcator. With areas of deeper rhytides such as in the perioral area, the wrinkled skin should be stretched and the TCA applied over the folds. In addition, TCA should be applied evenly over the lip skin to the vermiUion. [Pg.38]

The use of these peel combinations will enhance a monotherapy procedure. An example would be the patient with moderately severe photoaging changes around the periorbital and perioral areas, such as deep wrinkles and crepey eyelid skin and rhagades around the mouth, combined with only moderate photoaging changes around the rest of the face. This would be characterized by epidermal... [Pg.141]

Baker s solution is particularly useful for perioral rhytides and for crosshatched corrugated lateral facial rhytides which occur with severe photoaging. It can also be applied to minimize wrinkling in the vermilhon part of the hp. For very deep wrinkles a broken wood appHcator stick can be used to scrub the peeHng agents into deep perioral rhytides. [Pg.166]

Facial characteristics are defined by the skin, muscles and bones. Over the years, the face loses its youthful appearance. Body weight, hormonal changes, ultraviolet radiation, smoking, and gravity lead to the appearance of depressions and wrinkles. In addition, the loss of the skin s elasticity becomes apparent after the age of 30. Areas of the face most affected are the periorbital, malar, forehead, temporal, glabellar, mandibular, mental and perioral zones [14-16]. [Pg.141]
