Group A containing the perfluorophenyl phases (e.g.. Discovery F5 HS and Fluophase PFP, column nos. 20 and 26), Group B the perfluorohexyl branched alkyl endcapped (e.g., Fluofix, column no. 24) and perfluoroctyl phases (e.g., Fluophase RP and FluoroSep RP Octyl, column nos. 27 and 28), and Group C the perfluorohexyl non-endcapped (e.g., Fluofix, column no. 25) and perfluoropropyl (e.g., Perfluorpropyl ESI, column no. 72) phases. 

Kim and coworkers adapted the periphery of PPIs for a similar, albeit more ionic, coordination with cylindrical cucurbituril (CB 38) units to give a stable, poly(pseudorotaxane) architecture. The required l w(am-monium)-coated scaffolding was accessed via treatment of the dendriiner amine surface with the perfluorophenyl-activated ester of a Ijw(protected) diamine-modified acetate 3 9 followed by deprotection (HBr) of the diamine chains. Dissolution of the polyprotonated framework in H2O followed by the addition of CB afforded the self-assembled product 40. Preliminary studies aimed at decomplexation via treatment with base yielded partial separation. T] (spin-lattice) relaxation experiments with the CB-dendrimer complex showed a sharp increase with higher generations, suggesting that the outer shell possessed attributes of a solid phase such behavior has also been noted by Jansen et al. ... 

Since the PC1-PC2 analysis only explained 61% of the variation of the database, the PC1-PC3 plots were evaluated (see Fig. 5). PCS contributed an extra 15% of the variability of the data and a plot of PC1-PC3 further differentiated between the phases. The acidic phases such as Resolve Cjg, Spherisorb ODSl, and Platinum EPS Cjg (column nos. 87, 91, and 75) could be grouped together (group E) as these possessed high acidity and total silanol activity (agp, at pH 2.7 and 7.6). Within the non-Cjg phases (group D), the majority of cyano phases could be located as a subgroup H. The PC1-PC3 plotalso differentiated the perfluorophenyl...
