Peak capadty

Inclusion of a second pump for effluent dilution and transfer supports both online and offline MS analysis. Typical L2 loads induced by a seismic event could be loads created by tripping of the reactor or by a pressure peak in the primary system dne to a trifiped turbine in a boiling water reactor with a small steam bypass capadty to the condenser. 

Set the flow rate according to the manufacturer s recommendations. Typically this is about 60 cm/h (e.g. for Sepharose Fast Flow gels from Pharmada). Use linear flow rates (cm/h) to ensure consistent results independent of column dimensions. If the media support high flow rates, this may be taseful for equilibration and washing however higher capadty and sharper peaks are often obtained with slower rates for application and elution of the sample. 

The preparative capability of the present system is demonstrated in the separation of DNB-leucine enantiomers by varying the CS concentration in the stationary phase. The sample loading capacity is found to be determined mainly by the CS concentration or total amount of CS in the stationary phase that is, the higher the CS concentration in the stationary phase, the greater the peak resolution and sample loading capadty. Consequently, the standard HSCCC column can be used for both analytical and preparative separations simply by adjusting the amount of CS in the stationary phase.
