Peace lily

Plants are found to improve and cleanse the indoors air from a number of harmful pollutants such as formaldehyde, benzene and trichloroethylene, as shown in a NASA study [5]. Golden pothos, philodendron, corn plants and bamboo palms are found to be effective in cleansing the air from formaldehyde. Spathiphyllum (Peace Lily) and Dracaena deremensis Janet Craig are good for removing quantities of benzene, such as tobacco smoke. Trichloroethylene is very effectively removed by Dracaena marginata, Dracaena warneckei and Spathiphyllum. It is recommended by the Plants for Clean Air Council, that one potted plant for each 1,000 cm of floor space is needed for better lAQ [5, 7].
