Pastes, positive electrodes preparation

Preparation 2-8 A mixture with 90% jS-CoOOH coated -Ni(OH)2, 5% CoO and 5% Ni powder were mixed thoroughly by milling to ensure the uniformity of the mixture. After adding a proper amoimt of 3% of the binders poly(tetrafluoroethylene) and sodium carbox5miethyl cellulose and distilled water, a paste with adequate rheological properties was produced by a blender in the course of continuous stirring for 1 h. The resultant slurry was poured into a foam nickel sheet and dried at 80°C in air. Afterward, the positive electrodes were rolled into a sheet with a thickness of 0.65 mni and cut into small pieces with the dimensions of 90 mm X 41 mm x 0.68 mm. [Pg.109]
