Figure 5 Fourier-transform spectra of paracetamol (A) Raman, and (B) infrared. Stretch vibrations of the non-polar C-H groups, close to 3000 cm", show up well in the Raman spectrum. In the infrared spectrum this whole region is dominated by stretching vibrations of the highly polar 0-H and N-H groups, much broadened through association with hydrogen bonding.
