It is described fairly comprehensively in the book of Andreev Belyaev (Ref 3, pp 206 08), under the title Vliyaniye sily nachal nago impul sa na skorost detonatsii ,which means Influence of starting force of impulse on the detonation velocity . An extruder resembles devices used for loading Gelatin Dynamites in paper cartridges. Such devices are known as sausage machines". An Improved Type is shown in Ref 1, p 306, reproduced here as Fig 4...

The explosive may also be extruded in the form of a long rod which is then cut into pieces of the required length on a table covered with a copper or brass sheet. The pieces are then put into paper cartridge cases which should be made of paraffined paper. 

Accdg to Perez Ara (Ref 7), explosivo de Divine, " Rack-a-rock o "Break-hills" was in the form of a paste consisting of K chlorate 23.5 and NB 76.5%. It was prepd just before use and loaded into paraffined paper cartridges...
