Palmaris Longus

Median Nerve, Lateral and Medial Cord, Anterior Division, Middle and Lower Cord, C7, C8, XL. [Pg.85]

At the junction of the upper and middle thirds of a line joining the medial epicondyle (ME) and middle of volar surface of wrist. [Pg.86]

If the needle electrode is inserted too medially it will be in the flexor carpi ulnaris if inserted too radially it will be in the flexor carpi radialis, and if inserted too deeply it will be in the flexor digitorum sublimus. [Pg.86]

Flexor pronator (medial) group Supplied by the median and ulnar nerves, this group comprises of the pronator teres, flexor carpi radialis, palmaris longus, flexor carpi ulnaris, and the flexor digito-rum superficialis. [Pg.260]

Schuurman AH, van Gils APG (2000) Reversed palmaris longus muscle on MRI report of four cases. Eur Radiol 10 1242-1244... [Pg.95]

The superficial layer of volar muscles consists of the flexor digitorum superficialis, the pronator teres, the palmaris longus, the flexor carpi radialis and the flexor carpi ulnaris (Fig. 9.2b,c). These muscles take their origin from a strong common tendon which arises from the medial epicondyle (see Chapter 8). The flexor digitorum superficialis, the largest muscle of the superficial layer, consists of three heads - humeral, ulnar and radial - which join at the proximal forearm and continue distally in four distal tendons that insert into the middle phalanx of the... [Pg.410]

The wrist is crossed by flexor and extensor tendons which course along its ventral and dorsal aspects respectively. Among them, nine flexor tendons and nine extensor tendons move toward the fingers without any attachment to the carpal bones two primary wrist flexors and three wrist extensors insert onto the distal carpal row and the metacarpals and one tendon, the palmaris longus tendon, attaches to the transverse carpal ligament and to the palmar aponeurosis. [Pg.427]

The palmaris longus tendon is a long thin tendon which passes in the midline and superficial to the transverse carpal ligament (Fig. 10.5). Distally, it splits into diverging bundles which intermingle with... [Pg.429]

Grasp with operator s palm to volar surface of subject s wrist. Point index finger to biceps tendon (BT) and insert needle electrode just ulnarly to tip of index finger. The electrode will travel through the palmaris longus. [Pg.80]
