P-toluene sulfonylhydrazide

A suspension of 30.5 g 7-bromo-l,l,4,4,6-pentamethyl-l,3,4-trihydronaphtha-len-2-one (0.10 mol), 22.1 g p-toluene-sulfonylhydrazide (0.119 mol), and 4.92 g of p-toluenesulfonic acid monohydrate (25.9 mmol) in 611 mL MeOH was refluxed under nitrogen for 24 h. The resultant reaction slurry was cooled for 1 h in an ice bath. Altered, and rinsed with 150 mL cold MeOH to give 36.8 g [aza-(7-bromo-l,l,4,4,6-pentamethyl(2-l,3,4-trihydro-naphthylidene))methyl][(4-methylphenyl)-sulfonyl]-amine, in a yield of 77%. [Pg.198]

Toluenesulfonamide Resin n Resins made by the interaction of toluene sulfonamide and formaldehyde. p-Toluenesulfonylhydrazide n A blowing agent similar to benzene-sulfonylhydrazide, but having higher melting and decomposition temperatures. [Pg.754]
