Preparation of p-Acetamidostyrene p-Acetamidostyrene was prepared by a modification of the procedure reported by Boyer and Alul (28) using the p-nitrostyrene prepared above. Recrystallization of the crude product in ethyl acetate, with drying in a vacuum oven for 24 hours afforded 13.08 g (60%) of p-acetamidostyrene (m.p. 132.5°C, lit. 134°C (28).
