Oxygen release by plants

Although vast amounts of literature are available to explain movement of air through plants, there is very limited information on oxygen release capacity of wetland plants or the consumption of oxygen in the root zone by reduced compounds. Tables 7.3 and 7.4 show reported literatures on oxygen release by wetland plant species. Table 7.3 reports oxygen release rates in mg O2 g (dw) day
