Oxygen continued composition

Yoshinari, T., Altabet, M. A., Naqvi, S. W. A., Codispoti, L., Jayakumar, A., Kuhland, M., and Devol, A. (1997). Nitrogen and oxygen isotopic composition of N2O from suboxic waters of the eastern tropical North Pacific and the Arabian Sea — Measurements by continuous-flow isotope-ratio monitoring. Mar. Chem. 56(3—4), 253—264. [Pg.93]

The calculation of the molar composition supposes a structural model for the SiO>Cy phase. It is usually assumed that the oxycarbide consists of tetrahedral units, SiCa04. , in which the silicon atom is bonded to carbon and oxygen. The compositional domain of the tetrahedral unit ranges continuously from Si04 (a = 0) to SiC4 (a = 4). Additionally, it is assumed that the carbon atom remains tetrahedrally bonded to 4Si (as in SiC), and the oxygen atom is bonded to 2 Si (as in silica), with no other crossbonding. Under such assumptions, the formula for the silicon oxycarbide derived from that of the tetrahedral unit is ... [Pg.278]

There is often a wide range of crystalline soHd solubiUty between end-member compositions. Additionally the ferroelectric and antiferroelectric Curie temperatures and consequent properties appear to mutate continuously with fractional cation substitution. Thus the perovskite system has a variety of extremely usehil properties. Other oxygen octahedra stmcture ferroelectrics such as lithium niobate [12031 -63-9] LiNbO, lithium tantalate [12031 -66-2] LiTaO, the tungsten bron2e stmctures, bismuth oxide layer stmctures, pyrochlore stmctures, and order—disorder-type ferroelectrics are well discussed elsewhere (4,12,22,23). [Pg.205]

The majority of thermal polymerizations are carried out as a batch process, which requires a heat-up and a cool down stage. Typical conditions are 250—300°C for 0.5—4 h in an oxygen-free atmosphere (typically nitrogen) at approximately 1.4 MPa (200 psi). A continuous thermal polymerization has been reported which utilizes a tubular flow reactor having three temperature zones and recycle capabiHty (62). The advantages of this process are reduced residence time, increased production, and improved molecular weight control. Molecular weight may be controlled with temperature, residence time, feed composition, and polymerizate recycle. [Pg.355]

Operational Characteristics. Oxygen generation from chlorate candles is exothermic and management of the heat released is a function of design of the total unit iato which the candle is iacorporated. Because of the low heat content of the evolved gas, the gas exit temperature usually is less than ca 93°C. Some of the heat is taken up within the candle mass by specific heat or heat of fusion of the sodium chloride. The reacted candle mass continues to evolve heat after reaction ends. The heat release duting reaction is primarily a function of the fuel type and content, but averages 3.7 MJ/m (100 Btu/fT) of evolved oxygen at STP for 4—8 wt % iron compositions. [Pg.486]
