Oxygen-conductive membranes

Industry is continuously in search for suitable membrane materials which may produce high purity oxygen at low cost and preferably at low temperamre. This type of material is yet to be developed. Presently the zirconia and perovskite membranes

In Section 13.63, it was stated that oxygen-conductive membranes are under development. These membranes are suitable for advanced power generation requiring oxygen for combustion or gasification and are based on zirconia and perovskite where oxygen is transported throngh the material as 0 .

Continuous air separation by an oxygen-conducting membrane which constitutes the wall of a CPO reactor is another approach which has received much interest, also from industry.
