Oxidation of nickel aluminide based composites

Resistance to oxidation and carburisation in both oxidising and reducing carburising atmospheres up to 1100°C. 

Good tensile and compressive yield strengths at 650-1 lOO C, as opposed to many nickel-based superalloys. 

Fatigue resistance superior to that of Ni-based superalloys. 

The formation of AI2O3 on the surface by pre-oxidation provides good chemical compatibility for many environments. 

The melting point is as high as 1638°C, about 300°C higher than that of
