Organotin derivatives of inorganic acids

Like carboxylates, numerous organotin derivatives ( esters ) of inorganic and element-organic acids (carbonates, nitrates, phosphates, phosphonates, phosphi-nates and their arsenic analogs, sulfonates, sulfinates, etc.), are characterized by supramolecular self-assembly in solution and/or supramolecular self-organization in solid state. [Pg.171]

The first probable structures of organotin nitrates were suggested on the basis of Sn Mossbauer and vibrational spectroscopic data. A polymeric structure with bridging NO3 groups has been suggested for trimethyltin nitrate, Me3SnN03,169. [Pg.171]

Introduction of organic groups on the phosphorus atom reduces the connectivity of the ligand and less complex, yet supramolecular, structures are formed. Thus, triphenyltin diphenylphosphate, Ph3Sn02P(0Ph)2 [526], and triphenyltin (O-methyl)methyl phosphonate, Ph3Sn02P(OMe)Me [527] are cyclic hexamers, [Pg.173]

Other triorganotin phosphinates self-assemble into chain-like, supramolecular helical arrays, 176 these include trimethyltin dimethylphosphinate, Me3Sn02PMe2, and dichlorophosphate, Me3Sn02PCl2 [529], and tri-n-butyltin diphenylphosphinate, Bu3Sn02PPh2 [530]. The self-assembly of tributyltin derivatives of phosphorus oxyacids (orthophosphates, phosphonates, and phosphinates), (Bu3Sn) 0 P(0)-Ph3 , n = 0-2, has been investigated by Sn and P NMR and Sn Moss-bauer spectroscopy results are indicative of intermolecular association both in solution and in the solid state [531]. On the basis of spectroscopic evidence associated structures in the solid state and in solution have also been suggested for tri- [Pg.173]

Occasionally supramolecular self-assembly occurs without participation of the organophosphorus ligand and involves only Sn2(/ -OH)2 four-membered cyclic moieties, also known in other hydroxo tin derivatives. This is so for the mono-thiophosphates [Ph2Sn(/r-OH)OSP(OEt)2]2 [536], [Ph2Sn(/z-OH) OSP(OPh)2 ]2 [537], and [Bu 2Sn(//-OH) OSP(OEt)2 ]2 [538], and for the monothiophosphinate [Ph2Sn(Ai-OH)(OSPPh2)]2 [539]. [Pg.174]
