The magnetic properties of Pu compounds in different oxidation states are reviewed. New measurements on Pu(C8H8)2, PuFi, [(C2Hs)itN]2PuCl6, and [ (C2H5)itN]itPu(NCS)s are presented. The interpretation of the data is based on intermediate, j-j mixed crystal field states and orbital reduction due to covalency. Especially in the case of the organometallic compounds a large orbital reduction is found. [Pg.31]

Fe2(III,III)2+ states. By considering that organometallic dendrimers based on conjugated ferrocene units are of special importance since mixed-valence states have interesting electrical, redox, and magnetic properties, recently three generations of polypropylene amine) dendrimers, decorated at their periphery with 4, 8, and 16 (compound 6, Fig. 6.6a) BFc units, respectively, have been synthesized and the electrochemical behavior of the dendrimers complexed with (3-cyclodextrins ([3-CD) and adsorbed at self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of heptathioether-functionalized [3-CD on gold (molecular printboard) has been studied.40... [Pg.155]

Included for the first time in this section are books and surveys on spectroscopic techniques which are of great use to the organometallic chemist. In addition to the Chemical Society Specialist Periodical Reports on Spectroscopic Properties of Inorganic and Organometallic Compounds (B6.1) and Mass Spectrometry (B6.2), a series of Annual Reviews (volumes 1 or 2) or Reports (volume 3 onwards) on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy contains surveys of or P NMR results appertaining to organo-transition metal complexes. [Pg.387]

Spectroscopic Properties of Inorganic and Organometallic Compounds, ed. N. N. Greenwood, vols. 1 (1968), 2 (1969), 3 (1970). Each volume surveys the literature of the year before publication, under seven main chapter headings Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy Nuclear quadrupole resonance spectra Electron spin resonance spectroscopy Microwave spectroscopy Vibrational spectra Electronic spectra and Mossbauer spectroscopy. [Pg.284]

As far as organometallics are concerned, and important exception is represented by the (per)alkylated metallocenes and the related bis(arene) complexes of various transition metals. These compounds have been intensively studied in connection with the magnetic properties of their CT complexes, mainly by Miller and co-workers [11]. These studies led to the discovery of the first organometallic compound displaying bulk ferromagnetic properties (vide infra). [Pg.434]
