Organogermanium Derivatives of Group II Metals

This chapter comprises organogermanes containing germanium bonds to Group 

II metals. Derivatives of main group elements and transition metals are included. All compounds are very sensitive to air and moisture. The organo-germyl metal compounds listed in Table 82 are prepared by methods from the following scheme. 

Discussed as intermediate in rxn. of GeCl4 with i-PrMgCl in dry Et20 in He atm. at 4- (2591)  

with x 20 (C6Hn)3GeX X = H, D (353 2591)-PhCH2Cl (CeHii)aGeCH2Ph + PhCH2CeHii (2591)
