Organo metallic fragments

Your first question is one which we have discussed previously. You know that the report by Rest is simply cited in a footnote somewhere. It has never been presented in detail. I think that what really counts is the stability of the organo-metallic product which is left behind. Certainly iron tetracarbonyl is an organo-metallic fragment which is produced in many reactions of iron carbonyls. But, as you know, osmium tetracarbonyl is apparently of such high energy that its forma-... 

The examples presented herewith show that tagged Hoveyda-type catalysts can be successfully applied in aqueous media as well as in IL. Substitution of a benzylidene fragment can be used not only to immobilize the organo-metallic complex in such media, but also to increase its catalytic activity by electronic activation. The high stability and good application profiles of such modified catalysts in conjunction with their faeile removal from organic products can be expected to offer new opportunities in green applications of olefin metathesis. 

The chapter is based on our systematic theoretical studies of organo-metallic compounds using effective core potentials. - We want to point out that in these investigations only mononuclear low-spin (mainly closed-shell) transition metal compounds have been considered. The review is limited to the calculation of stable transition metal compounds that is, molecules that usually obey the 18-electron (sometimes 16-electron) rule (although the prediction of bond energies requires calculations on the respective unstable fragments, which have also been carried out).

Regarding these topics, special attention was drawn to low-valent alkynyl-stabilized organo-copper(I) and -silver(I) compounds in which the respective metals possess a planar surroimding [14]. While the use of alkyne- and alkynyl-stabilized inorganic and organic group-11 metal fragments have lately been reviewed in detail [14], we focus here on recent results obtained in the field of electron transfer.
