Orbital welding

The largest possible number of connections should be automatic TIG orbital welding without external hller wire (butt-welded). Manual welding or tri-clamp connections are authorized case-by-case, but have to be minimized and reserved manual welding is needed for inaccessible orbital welding, tri-clamp for sensors connections, and moving equipment (pump, hose pipe, etc.). [Pg.62]

To perform automatic TIG orbital welding, the use of a machine with a printout of the welding parameters is preferable. Develop a set of acceptable... [Pg.65]

Orbital welding of the piping should be preferred wherever possible to avoid bioburden growth. [Pg.250]

The tubing and other components (valves, elbows, tees, etc.) are welded for the most part by the automatic orbital welding machines. Such machines work... [Pg.4046]

In orbital welding, unlike spin welding, each point on the surface orbits a different point on the face of the stationary part. The orbit is of constant rotational speed and is identical for all points on the joint surface. This motion is stopped after sufficient material is melted and the thermoplastic then solidifies to form a weld. [Pg.591]

The welds in a stainless steel loop never should corrode, leak or become a source of rouging or biofilm. Welding work therefore should be inspected closely and be thoroughly documented. Specialised instruments are being used for this purpose. The welder must be qualified. AU handmade welds should be fully con-troUed in orbital welded pipework usually 20-30 % of the welds are tested. [Pg.602]

Linear vibration and orbital welding are essentially the same technique with the obvious difference being that one oscillates back and forth in a linear motion and the other oscillates in an orbital path. These techniques are applicable to parts that are larger (200-1500 mm) than those handled by ultrasonic welding. Large automotive under the hood air boxes and manifolds are vibration welded from PA (nylon). Recently, high-temperatnre polyamide oil sumps have been welded with this technique. [Pg.267]
