All employees working in and around open-surface tank operations must be instructed as to the hazards of their respective jobs and in the personal protection and first-aid procedures applicable to these hazards. [Pg.459]

On open-surface tanks where ventilation is used to control potential exposure to employees, ventilation must be adequate to reduce the concentration of the air [Pg.459]

There shall be a supply of clean, cold water near each tank containing liqnid that may be harmful to the skin if splashed on the worker s body. The water pipe shall be provided with a quick opening valve and at least 48 inches of hose not smaller than V4 inch. Alternatively, deluge shower and eye flushes must be provided. [Pg.460]
