Online Liquid Chromatography Clean-Up

A specific advantage for trace analyses is the concentrated eluate allowing lower detection limits and reproducibility. High-extract dilutions introducing additional contaminations with a subsequent need for evaporation as known from Soxhlett or SPE extractions are avoided. 

An online LC detector is necessary during method development with spiked samples. The GC is equipped with an injector suitable for large volume injections (LVI). A regular programmed temperature vaporizer (PTV) with a packed insert liner and a solvent vapor vent valve, or an on-column injector with retention gap and solvent vapour exit can be used. Conventional liquid extraction techniques can be replaced with this setup completely and run fully automated for a large sample series.
