The first of these equations can be solved to obtain qi from measurements of f(v,hi). This value is substituted into the second equation, which is then used along with measurements of f (v, h2) to determine q2. The procedure is continued until qm is determined from the last of the equations. If f (v, hi) is obtained for a number of values of v within an appropriate spectral range, the q s can be determined using nonlinear least squares solutions of Eq. (8.3.8).
