Oligosaccharides, proton magnetic resonance

Although the complexity of the proton magnetic resonance spectra of oligosaccharides generally precludes the deduction of detailed structural information, in certain cases some interesting data can be obtained. 

Probably the first proton magnetic resonance investigation of oligosaccharides was made by Bernstein, Adams, and Bishop, who attempted to distinguish the anomeric linkages of fully acetylated cellobiose, maltose,...
