Oligo antibiotics

Based on the theory, the separation of enantiomers requires a chiral additive to the CE separation buffer, while diastereomers can also be separated without the chiral selector. The majority of chiral CE separations are based on simple or chemically modified cyclodextrins. However, also other additives such as chiral crown ethers, linear oligo- and polysaccharides, macrocyclic antibiotics, chiral calixarenes, chiral ion-pairing agents, and chiral surfactants can be used. Eew non-chiral separation examples for the separation of diastereomers can be found. [Pg.110]

The NMR structures of aminoglycosides in complex with the A-site oligo also elucidate the structural origins of antibiotic-induced miscoding. To ensure... [Pg.193]

Structures of Narbomycin and Related Macrolide Antibiotics and obtained the D.Sc. (habilitation) degree. That same year he moved to the newly formed Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IOC) in Warsaw, first as a Docent (Associate Professor) and from 1973 as a full Professor until the year of his retirement. In 1968, he succeeded Professor Osman Achmatowicz as head of the Department of Synthesis of Natural Products. After reorganization of the Institute and the departure of the alkaloid laboratory to Poznan, he became head of the laboratory responsible for the synthesis of mono- and oligo-saccharides. Between 1979 and 1982 he served as the Research Director of the Institute. After retirement at the age of seventy, he continued his association with the Institute as Professor Emeritus. [Pg.21]

The origin of available chiral selectors is natural proteins, oligosaccharides e.g., cyclodextrins (CDs), polysaccharides (e.g., cellulose), antibiotics, and amino acids, semisynthetic (modified oligo- or polysaccharides), and synthetic (Pirkle types, ligand exchange, and synthetic polymers). Development in this field is well reflected by the increasing amount of new selectors introduced in the past few years [2-4],... [Pg.174]
