Olefin Exchange Reactions

Olefin exchange reactions, 431 Olefin Metathesis and Metathesis... [Pg.590]

N. Calderon, H. Y. Chen, and K. W. Scott, Tetrahedron Lett., 1967, 3327. Calderon was the first to coin the term olefin metathesis for the olefin exchange reaction that is typified by the Triolefin Process. [Pg.459]

The intensive research activities recently focused on late transition metal complexes as polymerization catalysts are justified by decisive improvements in the development of new polymer materials and indicate even more their high potential for future applications. However, up to now they often only dimerize or oligomerize a-olefms due to competing hydride elimination and associative olefin exchange reactions [19]. A new concept of new diimine ligands and complexes bearing 2,6-diphenyl-modified aniline moieties (Fig. 2.5) is stiU focused on sterically demanding substituents in the 2,6-positions, but it aims further towards the facile modification of the steric and electronic properties of the active species. [Pg.31]

In 1983 we published our first paper of the series on a carbonyl-olefin exchange reaction - new route to polyconjugated polymers [1] and shown that if the a,P-unsaturated carbonyl compound l,3-diphenylprop-2-en-l-one (chalkone) is treated with WClg polyphenylacetylene and benzaldehyde are formed. Scheme 1. [Pg.425]

Olefin exchange reactions are particularly related to catalytic reactions involving metal 7r-complexes. One of the first steps in the hydrogenation, isomerization, and polymerization of olefins involves the exchange of a ligand or solvent molecule to form the corresponding metal 7c-complex intermediate. [Pg.152]
