Offer mix

To improve sorbent selectivity, and thereby to increase separation process efficiency, multifunctional sorbents have been developed. These kinds of sorbents have two functional groups that can offer mixed retention mechanisms (i.e., hydro-phobic, ionic and/or pi-cation interactions). Different interaction mechanisms give efficient retention of compounds with different polarities and acidities. Such sorbents are applied in analysis of some pharmaceuticals, food samples, biological fluids, animal tissues, and wastes. [Pg.127]

When starting to create your PPG strategy, you want to first think about your objectives. What are your goals for your PPG ads Driving opportunities or conversions Or are you focusing on brand awareness Because each company is different, your offer mix will be unique based on your business priorities. [Pg.209]

Here are some desirable outcomes for PPG that you might want to keep in mind as you determine your offer mix ... [Pg.209]

Several companies have proposed vapor permeation modules to operate heavy hydrocarbon recovery from small natural gas flowstream since the 1990s MTR Inc., Borsig and GKSS. All the membranes in operation are based on sihcone selective layer which offer mixed-gas propane/methane separation selectivity comprised between 3 and 5 and butane/methane separation selectivity ranging from 5 to 10. [Pg.185]

Membrane Teehnology Researeh (MTR) has taken the lead in the development of organic vapor selective rubbery polymer membranes. These membranes offer mixed gas propane to methane selectivity of 3-5 and butane to methane seleetivity of 5-10. The actual selectivity, however, also depends on... [Pg.260]

Nitration of aromatic rings is possible by use of Pd(N03)2[356], Pd(OAc)2-NaN02[357], Pd(0Ac)2-N02[358], and Pd(0)-NO2[359], The nitration can be carried out fully catalytically by Pd(0Ac)2-N02 and oxygen. This reaction offers a promising new method of nitration without using mixed acids of HNO3 and H2SO4. [Pg.78]

The properties of a copolymer can be viewed as hybrids of the properties of the separate homopolymers. Because of this, a good deal of refinement can be introduced into these properties by the use of copolymers. The situation is analogous to the use of pure liquids or binary solutions as solvents. The number of binary combinations, n(n - l)/2 as noted above, greatly exceeds the number of pure liquids, and any one of these combinations can be prepared over a range of compositions. Just as mixed solvents offer a wider range of properties than... [Pg.467]

Similar materials are available based on potato starch, eg, PaseUi SA2 which claims DE below 3 and has unique properties based on its amylose—amylopectin ratio pecuhar to potato starch. The product contains only 0.1% proteia and 0.06% fat which helps stabilize dried food mixes compounded with it. Another carbohydrate raw material is waxy-maize starch. Maltodextrias of differeat DE values of 6, 10, and 15, usiag waxy-maize starch, are available (Staley Co.). This product, called Stellar, is offered ia several physical forms such as agglomerates and hoUow spheres, and is prepared by acid modification (49). Maltodextrias based oa com starch are offered with DEs of 5, 10, 15, and 18 as powders or agglomerates (Grain Processing Corp.). [Pg.119]

Eigure 2 shows that even materials which are rather resistant to oxidation ( 2/ 1 0.1) are consumed to a noticeable degree at high conversions. Also the use of plug-flow or batch reactors can offer a measurable improvement in efficiencies in comparison with back-mixed reactors. Intermediates that cooxidize about as readily as the feed hydrocarbon (eg, ketones with similar stmcture) can be produced in perhaps reasonable efficiencies but, except at very low conversions, are subject to considerable loss through oxidation. They may be suitable coproducts if they are also precursors to more oxidation-resistant desirable materials. Intermediates which oxidize relatively rapidly (/ 2 / i — 3-50 eg, alcohols and aldehydes) are difficult to produce in appreciable amounts, even in batch or plug-flow reactors. Indeed, for = 50, to isolate 90% or more of the intermediate made, the conversion must... [Pg.337]

Wet Oxidation Reactor Design. Several types of reactor designs have been employed for wet oxidation processes. Zimpro, the largest manufacturer of wet oxidation systems, typically uses a tower reactor system. The reactor is a bubble tower where air is introduced at the bottom to achieve plug flow with controlled back-mixing. Residence time is typically under one hour. A horizontal, stirred tank reactor system, known as the Wetox process, was initially developed by Barber-Cohnan, and is also offered by Zimpro. [Pg.502]

These mixing systems offer high flexibility because they can be operated in batch, semibatch, or continuous modes. Adequate mixing is a prerequisite for the success of chemical processes in terms of rninirnizing investment and operating costs. In addition, chemical reactions with... [Pg.419]
