A general remark is that the various thermal-hydraulic problems which occur in the primary circuit are coimected it would therefore be unrealistic to attempt to treat them separately. Improvement in one respect can lead to deterioration in another. In the present state of project development the quest for a reduction of dimensions, and more generally of mass, for constant power, has led to a desire to reduce uncertainty margins. This can only be done at the cost of continuously improved knowledge, taking more and more parameters into account, leading to a better accuracy in the study of the thermal-hydraulic behaviour [8.26, 8.27, 8.46].
