O-hydroxybenzene Diazonium

In this chapter, various types of chemical treatments including alkali, benzene diazonium salt, o-hydroxybenzene diazonium salt, succinic anhydride, maleic acid, acrylonitrile and nanocaly onto cellulose-based materials will be described and their effect on the structural and mechanical properties of the resultant composites will also be discussed. [Pg.302]

The physico-mechanical properties of o-hydroxybenzene diazonium salt-treated coir-reinforced polypropylene (PP) composites been investigated by Islam et al. [26]. [Pg.310]

Coir fiber was chemically treated with o-hydroxybenzene diazonium salt to improve mechanical properties of the composites. The mechanical properties of the composites prepared from chemically treated coir were found to be much better compared to those of untreated ones. The surface morphologies of the fractured surfaces of the composites were also found to be changed. [Pg.311]

Nitroso compounds are formed as intermediates in this reaction. Yields from sulfonic acids, carboxylic acids, and nitro compounds, amongst others, are poor,424 but those from tertiary amines and phenols are often very good,423,426 although naphthols give only the nitroso derivatives for example, yields are 70% from A,iV-diethylaniline,423 96% from phenol,426 98% from o- or 7W-cresol,426 95% from chlorophenol,426 and 75-85% from o-hydroxybenzene-sulfonic acid 428 the diazonium group enters para to the NR2 or OH group. [Pg.447]
