The last type is a single polypeptide chain presynaptic neurotoxin. An example of this is notexin, from the venom o Notechis scutatus scutatus, consisting of 119 amino acid residues, with seven disulfide bonds. It has an MfOf 13,400. Notexin has isotoxins they differ in only one amino acid residue among the two isotoxins (Chwetzoff et al., 1990). The three-dimensional structure of notexin was determined by crystallography.
