Norwegian Storting

The prizes for physics and chemistry shall be awarded by the Swedish Academy of Sciences that for physiological or medical work by the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm that for literature by the Academy in Stockholm and that for champions of peace by a committee of five persons to be elected by the Norwegian Storting. It is my express wish that in the awarding of the prizes no consideration whatsoever shall be given to the nationality of the candidates, so that the most worthy shall receive the prize, whether he be a Scandinavian or not. [Pg.137]

The Swedish Government approved the definitive statutes of the Nobel Foundation on 29 June 1900, while the Norwegian Storting had already in 1898 agreed upon the statutes for the awarding of the Peace Prize. [Pg.142]

It is possible that the Norwegian authorities have had something else in mind, cf. the statement in the report to the Storting No. 46 (1997-98) Olje og gassvirksomheten p. 11 Offshore pipelines to final terminal should, in accordance with established practice, still be regulated as part of the production sector (our translation). [Pg.314]
