Non-engulfing

Continuous Anodes Consist of considerable lengths of relatively flexible copper-cored material which can be contoured to suit restricted spaces or to distribute current in a localised fashion. Typically they may be used in water boxes at a non-ferrous tubeplate/ferrous water box junction. Anode terminations pass through the water box via insulating entry points and the anodes are supported on insulators within the box. Anode/cathode distance must be such as to prevent the anode becoming engulfed in calcareous deposit that forms on the cathode. 

Phagocytic cells, such as macrophages, neutrophils and monocytes, may engulf foreign particles and present non-self-peptides on MHC class II molecules. 

During endocytosis, the association between receptor and anti-receptor draws the cell membrane to engulf the virus particle forming a cytosolic vacuole, similar to the process by which cells ingest other materials. Probably all non-enveloped viruses penetrate the cell in this manner, but some enveloped viruses such as orthomyxoviruses (e.g. influenza) also use this process. 

There are, however, limitations on the degree to which the matrix/NbaSn volume ratio can be reduced in these high-tin bronze composites. For example, the niobium cores need to be spaced sufficiently for uniform reaction throughout the filament groups and niobium filaments must not be engulfed by Kirkendall voids or non-a-bronze phases [ ] during the homogenization heat treatment, which distributes the tin prior to reaction. A purpose of this study was to determine the quantity of matrix material necessary to fulfill these requirements. 

The HeLa cells originally were transformed by the HPV-encoded oncoproteins (that neutralize p53 and Rb cellular mmor suppressor genes). Distinction between self and non-self probably did not exist when ancient chimeric cells were formed, and engulfed bacteria were accepted as self (proteobacteria for the mitochondrion cyanobacteria for the chloroplast).
