Bleaching helps to remove stains on white clothes and retain their brightness. It can remove the colour when used on coloured clothes. The bleaching agents can be classified as chlorine bleach or non-chlorine bleach. 

Non-chlorine bleach Bleach that does not release the hypochlorite ion in solution, for example sodium perborate, sodium percarbonate, etc.
