Nitrogen , profiles

Irrespective of these deviations, it is also possible from this transfer number approach to obtain some idea of the species profiles in the droplet burning case. It is best to establish the conditions for the nitrogen profile for this... [Pg.355]

Studies of the combination of coating and ion implantation have been per-fonned with two kinds of Cr layers, both implanted with N ions. It has been shown that N implantation of both conventional and ABCD films results in an increase in the near-surface hardness of the Cr layers. The extent of this increase was greater for those films of both types that had been annealed at 400 C. AES depth profile analysis showed that the concentration of N in the implanted layer should not exceed 40 at.%. Implantation beyond that amount led to a broadening of the nitrogen profile. Analysis of film composition of the implanted Cr layers showed that the films consisted of Cr, C and N in the case... [Pg.380]

The complexity of the apparatus needed for ion implantation makes this method of case hardening of limited application. Further, the case depth is considerably lower than that produced by carburizing or nitriding. The depth of implantation of nitrogen in a steel is about 0.00006 cm (19), ie, so thin that it is difficult to measure the hardness profile by conventional microhardness measurements. [Pg.216]

Neutron activation also has been combined with accelerator mass spectrometry and has been demonstrated to have part-per-billion sensitivities fer bulk nitrogen analysis in silicon. This combination was also used to obtain depth profile of Cl in silicon semiconductors. ... [Pg.678]

An example of interface analysis by EDXS line profiling at high lateral resolution is given in Eig. 4.29. It is of particular importance, because the distribution of light elements like carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen is also revealed. This was possible by means of an Si (Li) EDXS detector (Kevex) with an ultrathin window attached to a dedicated STEM HB 501, from Vacuum Generators, with a cold field-emission cathode. [Pg.206]

Nabitan (39) is a cannabis-inspired analgesic whose nitrogen atom was introduced in order to improve water solubility and perhaps to affect the pharmacological profile as well. The phenolic hydroxyl of benzopyran synthon is esterified with 4-(l-piperidino)butyric acid under the influence of dicyclohexyl carbodi mi de. In addition to being hypotensive and... [Pg.190]

The experimental results imply that the main reaction (eq. 1) is an equilibrium reaction and first order in nitrogen monoxide and iron chelate. The equilibrium constants at various temperatures were determined by modeling the experimental NO absorption profile using the penetration theory for mass transfer. Parameter estimation using well established numerical methods (Newton-Raphson) allowed detrxmination of the equilibrium constant (Fig. 1) as well as the ratio of the diffusion coefficients of Fe"(EDTA) andNO[3]. [Pg.794]

Cadmium and lead profiles in birds feathers based on samples in the milligram range and below were determined by solid sampling Zeeman-GFAAS, using a feather RM produced by milling at liquid nitrogen temperatures and characterized for its metal contents with different analytical methods (Hahn et al. 1990). [Pg.140]

The nitrogen content in honey is about 0.04%. Amino acid content accounts for approximately 1% (w/w). Free amino acid profiles have been proposed for the determination of the botanical and geographical... [Pg.98]
