The presence of zinc with bidentate nitrogen donor ligands in the formation of novel composite materials by hydrothermal reactions has been studied. A zinc-containing one-dimensional material, [Zn(phenanthroline)Mo04] was isolated from molybdate, and from vanadium oxide in the presence of zinc 2,2 -bipyridine [Zn(2,2,-bipyridine)2V40i2] was obtained.212,213...

The complexes [lr(COD)(NCMe)(PR3)]BF4 (PR3 = P Pr3, PMe3), which are closely related to Crabtree s catalyst, also contain mixed ligands, very basic phosphines, P Pr3 or PMe3, and a nitrogen donor ligand, acetonitrile. These mixed-ligand pair combinations have been shown to be very useful for spectroscopic observations and have provided detailed information on the mechanism of reactions performed by those complexes [9, 10]. 

Since the early 1980s rich thermal and photochemical redox chemistries of Os =N species containing nonlabile oxidation-resistant nitrogen donor ligands have emerged. However, there are only a few examples of ruthenium(VI) nitrido complexes of this type, and their redox chemistry is largely unexplored. 

Extensive work on cis- and trans-d o o complexes of ruthenium(VI) and osmium(VI) containing nonlabile, oxidation-resistant nitrogen donor ligands has been reported. 

Busch and coworkers192 193) have reported on the synthesis, magnetism, IR, and electronic spectral properties of iron(II) complexes containing tetradentate macro-cyclic nitrogen donor ligands. 

This method of synthesis of seven-coordinate complexes could have been considered in Section II,C,3, i.e., halogen oxidation of carbonyl complexes containing monodentate nitrogen donor ligands. However, a separate section is given to these [MX2(CO)3(NCMe)2] complexes, as an extensive chemistry has been developed over the 10 years since the details of their synthesis first appeared in 1986." 100... 

Complexes containing nitrogen donor ligands such as [(MeCp)2YbNH2]2 have been characterized and the complex is found to be a centro symmetric dimer in which the plane of Yb2N2 part is nearly orthogonal to the plane of the two ring centroids and Yb atoms [116].
