Nitrogen, as ligand

Cyclic siloxanes with organic substituents on the silieon atoms have often been described in the literature/ whereas reports about Si-0 ring systems with halogen, sulfur or nitrogen as ligands at the silieon atoms are rare/ Cyclosiloxanes with only amino substituents were unknown until reeently. Moreover, cyclosiloxanes with halogen substituents are not only diffieult to prepare but are only obtained in moderate yields/ ... [Pg.360]

Most of these supported catalysts contain nitrogen as ligands such as Box, aminoalcohol, N-sulfonylamino acid and salen. [Pg.86]

Mercury(I) forms few complexes, one example is the linear [H2O-Hg Hg- H20] found in the mercury(I) nitrate dihydrate (above, p. 437), In contrast, mercury(II) forms a wide variety of complexes, with some peculiarities (a) octahedral complexes are rare, (b) complexes with nitrogen as the donor atom are common, (c) complexes are more readily formed with iodine than with other halogen ligands. [Pg.438]

Chemical Properties. Although the chemical properties of the trivalent lanthanides are quite similar, some differences occur as a consequence of the lanthanide contraction (see Table 3). The chemical properties of yttrium are very similar too, on account of its external electronic stmcture and ionic radius. Yttrium and the lanthanides are typical hard acids, and bind preferably with hard bases such as oxygen-based ligands. Nevertheless they also bind with soft bases, typicaUy sulfur and nitrogen-based ligands in the absence of hard base ligands. [Pg.540]

Hahde complexes of Cu with nitrogen base ligands are known to exhibit another form of reversible spectral change known as fluorescence thermochromism. The example of Cu4l4(Py)4 from Table 1 is typical and shows red shifting ia the visible emission spectmm while the sample is both cooled and irradiated with a 364 nm ultraviolet source (7). [Pg.171]

Organometallic compounds apart, oxidation states below - -2 are best represented by complexes with tris-bidentate nitrogen-donor ligands such as 2,2 -bipyridyl. Reduction by LiAlH4 in thf yields tris(bipyridyl) complexes in which the formal oxidation state of vanadium is -1-2 to —1. Magnetic moments are compatible with low-spin configurations of the metal but. [Pg.998]

Epoxidations of chiral allenamides lead to chiral nitrogen-stabilized oxyallyl catioins that undergo highly stereoselective (4 + 3) cycloaddition reactions with electron-rich dienes.6 These are the first examples of epoxidations of allenes, and the first examples of chiral nitrogen-stabilized oxyallyl cations. Further elaboration of the cycloadducts leads to interesting chiral amino alcohols that can be useful as ligands in asymmetric catalysis (Scheme 2). [Pg.79]
