Nitrite ions, reaction with sulfite

One of the by-products always obtained in the reactions of sulfites with nitrites, regardless of the ratio of the reactants, is the corresponding nitridotrisulfate. It becomes the main product when an excess of hydrogen sulfite ion is allowed to react with nitrite ion at higher temperatures. [Pg.182]
