Nickel complexes acetate tetrahydrate

Nickel(II) complexes with simple carboxylate anions have been well known for a long time,1715 and nickel(II) acetate tetrahydrate is one of the most thoroughly studied compounds. Selected examples of nickel(II) complexes with carboxylate anions are shown in Table 85. The carboxylato complexes are high-spin octahedral with few exceptions. [Pg.155]

The A -methyl inverted porphyrin 3.171 has also been demonstrated as being capable of forming a stable complex with divalent nickel. In this instance, it was found that treatment of 3.171 with nickel(II) acetate tetrahydrate in methanol affords the metal complex 3.172 in 75% yield (Scheme 3.5.6). This complex, like that of the N-unsubstituted inverted porphyrin discussed above, serves as a cogent... [Pg.176]

This square planar nickel complex is prepared by the reaction of the ligand prepared in the previous procedure (B above) with nickel(Il) acetate tetrahydrate in warm (55°) methanol. In a typical preparation 74 g (0.265 mole) of the linear quadridentate ligand is slurried in 1 L of warm methanol in a 2-L flask. To this... [Pg.38]

The template condensation of diethyl jV-(2-aminophenyl)aminomethy-lenemalonate (162, R = H), ethyl 2-[)V-(2-aminophenyl)amino]methy-leneacetoacetate, and Ni(II) acetate tetrahydrate in boiling ethanol for 20 hr gave a 60% yield of unsymmetrically substituted nickel(II) complexes of type 1595, which were characterized by UV, H- and, 3C-NMR spectra (88MI2). [Pg.325]

Preparation of the complex. The solution of bis[2-(hydroseleno)ethyl]methyl-amine prepared above is gradually added to a solution of nickel acetate tetrahydrate (4.32 g, 17.4 mmole) in ethanol (100 mL) and stirred for 1 h. The solvent is removed under reduced pressure to obtain a dark mass, which is extracted with benzene (10 x 80 mL). These green extracts are combined, and the benzene is removed under vacuum. The resulting solid is washed with 10 mL of methanol and 50 mL of ether and dried in vacuo to obtain the desired product. Yield = 2.01 g (38.2%). [Pg.102]

Neutral nickel(II) complexes with a number of deprotonated porphyrins have been prepared in most cases by the direct reaction of a nickel salt, usually Ni(ac)2-4H20, with the preformed diacid macrocycle, using media such as DMF, MeC02H or PhCl at refluxing temperature. Recently, the template synthesis of the complex with tetraalkylporphyrins has been reported (Scheme 61).2883 On the other hand the condensation reaction of 1,3,4,7-tetraalkylisoindole and nickel acetate tetrahydrate gives the [Ni(omtbp)] complex (omtbp = octamethyltetrabenzoporphyrinate dianion), 2884... [Pg.274]

Organic gels were prepared by polycondensation of resorcinol with formaldehyde in water as a solvent. Three series of carbon samples were prepared one without addition of metal the two others containing nickel and palladium (about 1% weight) respectively. The incorporation of metal was achieved by dissolution of a metal salt nickel acetate (tetrahydrate) and palladium acetate were used. As resorcinol plays the role of nickel complexant, nickel is easily soluble in resorcinol-formaldehyde aqueous solutions. On the contrary, significant amounts of palladium cannot be dissolved without using an additional complexant. Diethylenetrinitrilopentaacetic acid (DTPA) was then added to the solution. No sodium carbonate as polymerisation catalyst was used. In this work, the pH was adjusted to a chosen value by the use of sodium hydroxide (aqueous solution) and measured by a pH-meter. [Pg.620]

Nickel acetate tetrahydrate forms coordination complexes with poly(4-vinylpyri-dine) (P4VP) and increases the glass-transition temperature of this amorphous polymer by 102°C when the Ni concentration is 36mol%. The complete concentration dependence of the effect of NF on P4VP s is summarized in Table 6. ... [Pg.20]
