Neutral Electrolytes for EDLCs

Interestingly, mild neutral electrolytes not only allow a selection of diverse current collectors, but also favor the development of some electrode materials such as deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA)-AC composite electrodes that cannot afford strongly acidic and basic electrolytes [196]. [Pg.65]

To extend the operative temperature range to the lower temperature limit of EDLCs, Yin et al. [197] proposed the addition of antifreezing additives for aqueous electrolytes. The assembled EDLCs with methanol/water-concentrated NaC104 electrolytes exhibited improved energy and power densities at temperatures as low as -40°C compared to the NaC104 electrolyte. [Pg.66]
